Accreditation & Credit

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of University Health Services Professional Education Programs (UHS-PEP) of Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and Virginia Geriatrics Society. UHS-PEP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UHS-PEP designates this live activity for a maximum of 19.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This continuing education activity meets the criteria of Virginia Commonwealth University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. 1.9 CEUs will be awarded and recorded with the University.

Application for CME Credit has been filed with the Academy of

Family Physicians.  Determination of credit is pending.

VCU School of Pharmacy, Office of Continuing Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.   Upon successful completion of all learning assessment activities and submission of an evaluation form, participants will receive 19 contact hours (1.9 CEUs). Statement of Credits will be issued six weeks after all program documentation has been submitted to our office for processing.

Continuing Education for Nurses: 19.0 CE Contact Hours will be awarded (Pending Approval) for attending this conference. The VCU Health System Department of Education and Professional Development is approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing education by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

VIRGINIA GERIATRICS SOCIETY
The Virginia Geriatrics Society (VGS) is an affiliate of the
American Geriatrics Society.  Membership in VGS provides
priority access to all educational opportunities, free continuing
education units (CEU’s and CME’s) at dinner meetings,
discounted registration fee for the annual Virginia Geriatrics
Conference, networking with Geriatrics and Gerontology
professionals and opportunity to impact Geriatrics at the state
and national level.  Cost of Membership is just $50 annually.
